Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology Technologist for a Diagnostic X-ray department in Saint Louis, MO, requiring 2+ years of hospital-based experience including IP, OR, ED, and OP patient populations.
Details
- Diagnostic X-ray department within an acute care hospital setting
- Patient populations include inpatient (IP), OR, ED, and outpatient (OP)
- Procedures include general x-ray, fluoroscopy, GI procedures, interventional and special procedures (myelography, hysterosalpingography, arthrography), surgical C-arm and O-arm procedures, and portable imaging
- EMR: Epic
- Day shift, 5x8 schedule (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Weekend coverage required on an every-other-weekend basis
- Holiday coverage required during the contract
- Call requirements as determined by facility
- Float requirements as determined by facility
- 16-week assignment
Requirements
- ARRT certification required, along with BLS from AHA only
- RRA licensure required — license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital radiology setting
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiography program required
- Experience with portable x-ray, fluoroscopy, C-arm, O-arm, and general x-ray room equipment
- Proficiency with Epic preferred
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Assist radiologists and performing physicians with interventional and special procedures, GI procedures, surgical cases, and general x-ray across portable, fluoro, and general x-ray room settings
- Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide patient care essential to the exams being performed are required
- Black scrubs required
- Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for travelers working November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Orientation is conducted during day shift for the full orientation week regardless of assigned shift
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Local candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before being required to either separate from the facility for a minimum of 1 year or transition to a facility outside the 50-mile radius
- The facility has earned a Level 2 Trauma Center designation, Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center recognition, and Level 1 STEMI Center status
