Description
American Traveler is hiring a Travel Rad Tech for a Diagnostic X-ray unit in Saint Louis, MO, requiring 2+ years of hospital-based radiology experience including IP, OR, ED, and OP patient populations.
Details
- Hospital-based Diagnostic X-ray unit in Saint Louis, MO
- Patient populations include inpatient (IP), OR, ED, and outpatient (OP)
- Procedures include general x-ray, fluoroscopy, GI procedures, interventional and special procedures (myelography, hysterosalpingography, arthrography), portable x-rays, and surgical procedures using C-arms and O-arms
- EMR: Epic
- Evening shift, 5x8 schedule
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required during the contract
- On-call for OR as needed
- Float requirements as determined by facility policy
- 16-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital-based radiology experience
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiography program
- ARRT certification required
- BLS required (AHA only)
- RRA license required if applicable
- Experience with IP, OR, ED, and OP patient populations
- Proficiency with portable x-ray, fluoroscopy, C-arm, and O-arm equipment
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Assist radiologists and performing physicians with interventional and special procedures, GI procedures, and all general x-ray procedures
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team with strong communication skills
- Able to provide patient care essential to the exams being performed and take OR call when necessary
- Facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center (the only one in the South County area), a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a Level 1 STEMI Center
- Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Black scrubs required
- Orientation is conducted on day shift; traveler must be available the full week for orientation
- RTO of up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to local bill rate and contract restrictions
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment unless documentation of scheduled renewal is provided
