Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Radiology Technologist for a night shift position in a diagnostic x-ray department at a Level 2 Trauma Center in St. Louis, MO, requiring 2+ years of hospital-based radiology experience.
Details
- Diagnostic x-ray department at an acute care hospital
- Level 2 Trauma Center — the only one in the South St. Louis County area
- Patient population includes inpatient, OR, ED, and outpatient cases
- Procedures include general x-ray, portable x-ray, fluoroscopy, GI studies, interventional and special procedures (myelography, hysterosalpingography, arthrography), and surgical procedures using C-arms and O-arms
- EMR: Epic
- 4x10 night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Holiday coverage required during the contract
- Float and call requirements as needed per facility policy
- 16-week assignment in Saint Louis, MO
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in radiology in a hospital setting
- ARRT certification required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Successful completion of an accredited Radiography program
- State license required if applicable
- Experience with inpatient, OR, ED, and outpatient patient populations
- Proficiency with portable x-ray, fluoroscopy rooms, C-arms, and O-arms
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Valid U.S. Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Assist radiologists and performing physicians with interventional and special procedures, GI procedures, and all general x-ray procedures
- Provide direct patient care essential to the exams being performed
- Take OR call as needed
- Night shift orientation takes place on day shift; candidates must be available the full orientation week
- Black scrubs required
- Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) is required for travelers from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
- Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
- Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after completion, a minimum 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required before returning
