Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced IMCU-level RN for a PCU/Telemetry night shift position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Mixed PCU unit spanning two floors: Tele on 2E and IMCU on 3E
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, respiratory failure, renal, GI, and CIWA diagnoses
- Staffing ratios are 1:4 for Telemetry patients and 1:3 for IMCU patients
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- Floating may be required to other units (IMCU, Tele, CDU) and campuses within a 30-mile radius, though Edmonds campus clinicians rarely float
- Procedures include pre/post cardiac cath, BiPAP/CPAP, cardioversion/defibrillation, 12-lead EKG, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, wound vac, PICC/central lines, Port-A-Cath access, and syringe pumps
- Medication management includes amiodarone, antiarrhythmics, beta blockers, Cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, insulin, Levophed, magnesium sulfate, milrinone, nitroglycerin, and norepinephrine
- EMR: Epic (required)
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- IMCU-level RN experience required for this PCU position
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent employees of any Providence-affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Travelers are provided a code for complimentary Lyft rides between Swedish campuses during onboarding
- Minimal RTO is expected for this position
- Active compact licenses are honored at all Swedish facilities
