Description
American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of experience and required Structural Heart scrub experience for a cardiac cath lab travel assignment.
Details
- Work in a cardiac cath lab with 3 procedure rooms
- Procedures include complex PCI, balloon angioplasty, stents, thrombectomy, Impella insertion, left and right heart catheterization, Rotablader, and structural heart interventions (TAVR)
- Preferred procedure experience includes Watchman, septal closure, ablations, coil embolization, and filter placement
- EMR systems used: Epic and MAC Lab
- 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Call requirement includes callback and weekend call; approximately 9–11 call days per 6-week schedule with 1–2 weekend call rotations
- Floating to EP may occasionally be required but is rare; the unit's patient holding area is considered part of the Cath Lab
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant Cath Lab experience required
- Structural Heart scrub experience is required — candidates without this experience will not be considered
- Required skills include scrubbing, monitoring, PA lines, telemetry, and TAVR experience
- Preferred skills include circulating, IV start, conscious sedation, and rhythm interpretation
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- At least one of the following required: RCIS or ARRT
- License required if applicable
- Two professional supervisor/manager references from within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references may be pending at time of consideration but are required prior to start
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are accepted for this position
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
- Orientation is conducted weekly; travelers must be fully available during the first week with no other commitments, as missing any portion of orientation may result in a delayed or canceled start
- Pre-completion of 8–10 hours of online modules is required before the start date and annually thereafter
- No RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be approved thereafter as long as it does not fall on a holiday, with any additional RTO requiring facility approval
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Previous permanent, PRN, or employed staff of this health system must wait 12 months before being eligible to apply as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
- Travel pairs are permitted; each traveler must have their own transportation and be comfortable with potentially different schedules
- Scrubs are provided
