Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring ACLS certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting with 431 staffed beds, designated as a Level II Trauma Center
- SICU unit specializing in trauma, cardiovascular surgery (TAVR, CABG), neurosurgery, and complex post-surgical patients
- Patient diagnoses include acute ventilatory failure, COVID-19 with high O2 demand, DKA, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, open heart and TAVR recovery, post-code blue, multi-system organ failure, and CRRT needs
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3, adjusted to skill level and acuity during float assignments
- 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Block scheduling is not available
- Charting performed in Epic
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Local candidates are welcome to apply
Requirements
- Active VA or Compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with arterial line management and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, CRRT, and hemodynamically complex patients preferred

- Time-off requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; approved RTO is at the manager's discretion
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
