Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced EP Lab RN with at least 3 years of experience and active SC or Compact RN licensure for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Columbia, SC.
Details
- Works in the Electrophysiology (EP) Lab of a 304-bed acute care hospital
- Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (0700–1730); shift length may vary as staff remain until procedures are complete
- No on-call, weekend, or floating requirements
- Charting performed in Epic
- Hospital-issued scrubs provided for the EP Lab
- No call requirements
Requirements
- Active SC RN license or Compact (multi-state) RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered but must be fully licensed before starting
- Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 3 years of EP Lab RN experience required
- Proficiency in Activated Clotting Time (ACT) management required
- Experience with cardioversion, circulating procedures, and monitoring procedural sedation required
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and obtain 12-lead EKG/ECG required
- A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the agency prior to start
- Social Security card and driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates who have previously worked as permanent staff or PRN at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and is subject to facility approval
- Online orientation modules must be completed prior to the assignment start date
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties; peak activity months are August and September
- Free parking is available via a parking pass distributed at badge pickup; note that garage clearance is limited to average-sized SUVs and trucks
