Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Specialties unit position requiring recent Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma experience and a NH or compact RN license.

Details

• Medical Specialties unit with 36-bed and 25-bed configurations
• Primarily medical patient population including sepsis, infectious processes, acute kidney injury, CKD (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, complex wounds, and acute/chronic respiratory illnesses including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis
• Unit is part of a nationally recognized Cystic Fibrosis center
• Day/Night rotation, 36 hours per week
• Telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with IV drips including Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, and amiodarone required
• Central line care, maintenance, and blood draws performed regularly
• Chest tube and trach/laryngectomy management required
• Care of post-surgical patients including management of lines, tubes, and drains

Requirements

• Active NH or Compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level 1 or comparable Level 2 Trauma setting
• Experience with telemetry monitoring
• Proficiency with IV drip management (Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, amiodarone)
• Experience with central line care, maintenance, and blood draws
• Experience with chest tubes, trachs, and laryngectomies
• Experience managing complex wounds
• 2 professional references from managers required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
• License must remain active for the full duration of the assignment
