Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU experience for a 13-week variable shift position at a 260-280 bed hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Details
- Work in a Respiratory Therapy department at a 260-280 bed hospital in Rapid City, SD
- Patient population includes pediatric critical care, neonatal critical care (NICU), and general inpatient respiratory care
- Variable 6/12-hour shifts, rotating nights
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend rotation required
- Holiday coverage required for holidays falling within contract dates
- Floating coverage throughout the hospital and ED as needed; no floating to other facilities unless specifically hired for that purpose
- Epic EMR experience required; Omnicell also used
- Ventilators used include Draeger V500, Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, and Hamilton C1/MRI
- Additional equipment includes ResMed APAP/CPAP/Bi-level, Airvo2 High Flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 blood gas machines, IPV, and Praxair iNO
Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; CRT will not be considered
- South Dakota RCP license required prior to consideration — allow approximately 30 days for processing (SDBMOE.gov)
- License required if applicable
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree or higher required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- NICU experience required
- Critical care and general respiratory care experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP required for NICU assignments
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
- 2 professional references dated within the past year required for consideration
- DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers may be considered upon manager review with demonstrated strong experience
- Charge RT and Respiratory Clinical Specialist support available 24/7, along with supervisors, manager, and director
- Pewter scrubs required
- Free parking available on-site
- RTO of up to 7 days may be approved; a full week off requires a contract extension
- No RTO approved during the Sturgis Bike Rally (first 3 weeks of August)
