Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room position requiring a current NY RN license and a minimum of 2 years of OR experience.

Details

• 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts per week
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• On-call required with a 30-minute response time
• Uses MEDITECH EMR

Requirements

• Active NY State RN license currently in hand
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
• Experience with clinical equipment and instrumentation used in an OR/ASU setting
• MEDITECH experience required
• Ability to interpret lethal dysrhythmias
• Ability to assess and implement safe patient lifting and movement techniques
• Strong leadership, prioritization, and delegation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills
• 2 references from a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager — must be from the past year and within the OR specialty

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible — no local candidates accepted
• Candidates must live within a 100-mile radius of the facility
• May be required to assume charge nurse duties
• Preceptorship, charge, and leadership experience preferred for experienced RNs
• Must be able to function effectively in high-stress situations and apply creative problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of nursing principles and ability to assess clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual patient needs is expected
