Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a night shift Acute Telemetry position in Alexandria, LA, requiring AHA BLS and ACLS certifications and experience with cardiac patient populations.
Details
- Acute Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and med/surg overflow
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required when needed
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active LA or compact RN license required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current AHA ACLS certification required
- 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Provides routine and complex nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Educates patients, family members, and caregivers and identifies appropriate resources
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation completed during onboarding
- All newly hired experienced RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
- Temp-to-perm conversion is a possibility
- SSN required for consideration
