Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position at a Level III Trauma Center requiring 2+ years of continuous MICU experience and an active MA RN license.

Details

• 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU (MICU) at a 400+ bed community hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center
• Patient population includes adults with diagnoses such as substance abuse/overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU; ratio adjusts to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units
• Night shift: 19:00–07:30, every other weekend (EOW) required
• Night shift does not rotate
• Floating required, primarily to Medical/Surgical units
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Free on-site parking available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA only; Red Cross not accepted at this facility)
• Minimum 2 years of continuous MICU experience required, preferably at a single location
• Adult ICU experience required
• Telemetry strip reading competency required
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions

Additional Information

• Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24 hours a day
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
