Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a combined adult/pediatric ED, requiring a minimum of 2–3 years of ED experience and prior travel experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving a combined adult and pediatric patient population
- Night shift schedule alternating between 3x12-hour and 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Work setting may include a Level II Trauma Center, STEMI-certified, and Stroke-certified facility
Requirements
- Active TX or Compact RN license required and must be in-hand prior to start
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB
- Minimum 2 years of ED experience required; 3 years preferred
- Candidates with 2 years of experience must have a background in a high-volume or trauma facility
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Skills required: IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, emergency medication administration, and triage
- 2 supervisory references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result will result in automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid any substances that could produce a positive result, including CBD products, prior to arrival
- Preferred skills include pediatric emergency care, psychiatric and behavioral health management, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator, chest tube), neurological and trauma care, and orthopedic management
- Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging 2–3 hours, completed via Oracle
