Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Orem, UT, requiring an active UT or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.

• Work in a 16-bed Emergency Department at a hospital in Orem, UT
• 12-week travel contract
• Night shift schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, 36 hours per week
• Two weekends per month required
• Patient ratios of 3–4:1, or 1:1 for trauma/critical patients
• EMR: Meditech
• Floating to the ED is limited to cross-trained RNs only
• Procedures performed include peripheral and ultrasound-guided IV insertion, IO insertion management, central line dressing changes, 12-lead ECG acquisition, defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion (assist), transcutaneous pacing (assist), procedural sedation monitoring, medication titration, blood product administration, MTP implementation, foley and straight cath insertion, splint application, hemorrhage control, and more
• Equipment includes BD Insyte IVs and Belmont rapid infuser

Requirements

• Active UT RN license or compact RN license currently in hand — required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and CPI (or approved equivalent: SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date (AHA or ARC accepted)
• SSN (US only) and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for candidates licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

Additional Information

• Ideal candidates will hold TNCC, NRP, and ENPC certifications
• Ultrasound-guided IV experience is preferred but not required; EKGs, breathing treatments, digit blocks, chest tube and central line setup, LP setup, and TNK administration experience are also desirable
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• The ED team emphasizes a collaborative, teamwork-oriented environment with close integration between nurses, physicians, and mid-level providers
