Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department night shift travel contract in San Antonio, TX, requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and an active TX RN license.
Details
- Emergency Department (ED) setting at a hospital in San Antonio, TX
- Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 13-week contract
- Every other weekend required
- On-call responsibilities required
- Floating to other units is required per the Methodist Floating Policy
- Meditech used for documentation (experience preferred)
- Procedures performed include conscious sedation, intubation assistance, behavioral health watch, sepsis management, stroke care with tPA administration, and chest pain/Heart Alert protocols
Requirements
- Active TX RN license required — temporary licenses are not accepted
- Minimum 2 years of recent ED/ER experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS, and either PALS or ENPC
- CPI certification required for ER units (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI based on facility requirements)
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
Additional Information
- CEN certification is preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills are preferred
- Meditech EMR experience is preferred
- RN scrub color: Navy; undershirts and jackets must be white, navy, or black only
- Nail policy: No acrylic nails, no longer than ¼ inch, clean, no chipped nail polish
- Hair must be off shoulders and a natural color
- Body art should be covered whenever possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
- First-time travelers are not explicitly addressed — minimum 2 years of ER experience is required
