Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Emergency Department night shift travel contract in San Antonio, TX, requiring at least 2 years of ER experience and an active TX RN license.

• Emergency Department (ED) setting at a hospital in San Antonio, TX
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 13-week contract
• Every other weekend required
• On-call responsibilities required
• Floating to other units is required per the Methodist Floating Policy
• Meditech used for documentation (experience preferred)
• Procedures performed include conscious sedation, intubation assistance, behavioral health watch, sepsis management, stroke care with tPA administration, and chest pain/Heart Alert protocols

Requirements

• Active TX RN license required — temporary licenses are not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent ED/ER experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC, NIHSS, and either PALS or ENPC
• CPI certification required for ER units (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI based on facility requirements)
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no exceptions
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

Additional Information

• CEN certification is preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills are preferred
• Meditech EMR experience is preferred
• RN scrub color: Navy; undershirts and jackets must be white, navy, or black only
• Nail policy: No acrylic nails, no longer than ¼ inch, clean, no chipped nail polish
• Hair must be off shoulders and a natural color
• Body art should be covered whenever possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
• First-time travelers are not explicitly addressed — minimum 2 years of ER experience is required
