Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Alaska, requiring robotic surgery experience and an active Alaska RN license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting, 152-bed Magnet-designated facility
- Operating Room unit
- Night shift schedule: Monday–Thursday, 18:45–05:15 (3x12-hour shifts)
- Weekend shifts (Saturday and/or Sunday) required every weekend; third shift on weekends is variable based on unit needs
- On-call is required; weekend on-call coverage based on unit needs
- Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
- Cerner EMR used for charting
- Scrubs are Navy; OR scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available in the nearby parking structure
Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required; pending licensure not accepted
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Robotic surgery experience required
- Experience with code response, fire safety, malignant hypothermia protocols, electrosurgical equipment, arthroscopes, and laparoscopes required
- Some trauma experience required
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify; local candidates are not accepted
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No RTO restrictions, but all time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted prior to contract signing; no changes to RTO will be accepted after the contract is signed
- Block schedule availability to be discussed during the interview process
- All submitted documents must be logo-free
