Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with adult critical care and ED experience for a night shift position at a 562-bed Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with 562 total staffed beds, designated as a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet facility
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hours (1800–0630)
- Adult critical care and emergency department patient population
- Required to work every other weekend
- On-call required as needed for the department
- Floating within scope is required, including to nearby affiliate hospitals
- Charting via Cerner EMR
- Free parking available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
- Any solid color scrubs accepted
Requirements
- Active RRT credential required
- BLS certification required; AHA or Red Cross accepted — RQI AHA cards are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Active Illinois (IL) license required — license required if applicable
- Adult critical care and emergency department experience required
- Airway management experience required: endotracheal tube/suctioning, extubation, intubation assist, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy/suctioning
- Nebulizer therapy experience required: handheld, T-piece, and trach collar
- Oxygen therapy experience required: bag and mask, ET tube, HFNC, T-piece, trach collar, and Venturi masks
- Ventilator management experience required: BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Cerner EMR experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
- RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
