Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position at a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience and a background in large-scale, high-volume hospital environments.
Details
- 28-bed PCU/IMCU unit (10CD Intermediate Coronary Care) within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
- Cardiac patient population including STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac tamponade/surgery (CTS), and chest pain (C/P)
- Patient ratio of 1:3–4
- Cardiac drip management including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and pressors
- May also be assigned to telemetry beds within the same unit at lower acuity levels
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- 4 weekend shifts required per month
- Block scheduling is not approved on most units
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license — GA state or Compact license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU or IMCU experience in a similarly sized facility
- Experience in high-acuity, high-volume, large-scale hospital environments required — candidates with experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals will not be considered
- Demonstrated ability to manage critical, fast-paced clinical situations
