Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 3 Perinatal/Magnet teaching facility, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and NRP/FHM certification.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- Extreme high-risk Level 3 Perinatal Center where approximately 70% of patients are complex, high-risk cases
- Patient population includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care with access to a Level 4 NICU on site
- Patient ratio is 1:1
- Approximately 150 births per month
- Unit includes 2 ORs for C-sections, BTLs, and postpartum D&Cs; a second L&D RN serves as 'baby catcher' for well, non-compromised deliveries
- Unit also provides outpatient services when the affiliated clinic is closed
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM); 4x12 schedule may also be accommodated
- Weekend work is required
- Floating within the hospital is required; floating to sister hospitals is not
- No on-call requirements
- Charting is done in Epic (experience preferred but not required)
- 13-week contract with the possibility of extension to 26 weeks
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact license; pending WA license accepted
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required; 3 years preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and FHM
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- At least 2 travel assignments beyond initial hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rates with no radius restriction
- Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
- RTO may not be requested during orientation week and is limited to a maximum of 1 week for the duration of the contract
- Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- Daily parking is available on-site for $10.26/day
- Scrubs in any color are acceptable; scrubs are provided for OR personnel
- 2 professional references will be required for consideration
