Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of PACU experience and broad surgical experience.

Details

• Work setting is a 320-bed acute care hospital PACU
• Experience with all types of surgery is expected, as the unit seeks a well-rounded PACU RN
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, days only — must be open to any days M-F; block schedules and specific day-off requests cannot be accommodated
• Shift is 4x10-hour days (9:00–19:30)
• No weekend or on-call requirements
• Floating between facilities within the state may be required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Charting is via Meditech; Epic experience is also required
• Free parking is available on-site
• Scrub color for RNs is royal blue

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required; pending licenses are not accepted
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• First-time travelers are considered with 3+ years of PACU experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
• Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty or setting required for consideration

Additional Information

• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem), including location and dates
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
• Scheduling requests due to additional outside employment will not be considered
• All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
