Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and active IL licensure.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting — Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
- Med/Surg unit with an average daily census of 21 patients
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals is required of all travelers
- No on-call requirements
- Charting via Cerner
- Free parking available with a permit obtained during orientation
- Scrubs: any solid color accepted
Requirements
- Active IL RN license required; candidates actively in the application process with an ETA to apply will also be considered
- BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Required clinical skills: blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, and PICC line management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy experience required
- Knowledge of isolation precautions required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
- Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have a 12-month separation before being eligible to apply as a traveler
- Travel pairs are not accepted
- RTO of up to 5 days is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
