Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical/Surgical position in Michigan, requiring at least 1 year of experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Medical Surgical unit, including an Observation unit functioning as a 10-bed ER overflow
• Patient population consists of a general medical mix with high patient turnover focused on rapid admission and discharge cycles
• Day shift patient ratios are typically 1:4–5; when working as an RN/LPN team, ratios may increase up to 1:7
• Shift schedule is nights, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Every other weekend shift required
• Floating to other Med/Surg units is required, typically approximately once per week based on unit need
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated at this time

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• ER experience will also be considered

Additional Information

• Primary focus on continuous reassessment of patient readiness for discharge in a fast-paced, high-turnover environment
• Works alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and Techs; must be comfortable in a mixed-staff model
• No holiday time-off requests; specific holiday dates may be discussed with the manager based on unit availability
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible to apply at a reduced local rate
