Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care hospital Med/Surg experience and a Colorado or compact RN license.

Details

• Work on a 6 Med/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• Unit has 33 rooms with up to 49 patients, including some semi-private rooms
• Patient ratios are 4:1 on day shift and 5:1 on night shift
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment
• Charts using Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with spinal cord injury (SCI) patients preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide care for surgical flap patients, including spinal cord injury patients with stage 4 wounds requiring surgical intervention
• Partner with the burn unit to care for low-acuity burn patients
• Perform wound care and occasional bowel program management
• Occasional light burn care as part of daily duties
• Best suited for RNs who thrive on a busy medical floor and prioritize hands-on patient care
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
