Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Progressive Care Unit position requiring ACLS and strong cardiac monitoring skills, working night shifts on a 4x12 schedule.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes cardiac and telemetry monitoring cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00–07:30)
• Required to work every other weekend
• Floating to Med/Surg units required

Requirements

• Active RN license in Alabama or a compact license currently in hand or pending
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, Telemetry, and PCU/Step-down settings required
• Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
• Proficiency in IV insertion, Heparin protocols, and cardiac drip management (no titration) required
• 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates within 60 miles are accepted at a different rate
• RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment
• Hospital housing is available and consists of shared units with shared common spaces and private bedrooms; units are gender-specific and no dogs are permitted
• Travelers coordinate directly with the facility for housing arrangements
• The facility is located in a remote area; on-site housing is strongly recommended
• The facility offers flight reimbursement (economy class only) for travel to and from the assignment; detailed flight and luggage receipts must be submitted for reimbursement
• Flight itinerary must be provided to the facility at least one week before the start date; the facility will assist with airport pickup upon arrival but not for return travel
