Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position in Austin, TX, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and certifications including EFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP, and STABLE.
Details
- Located on the 4th floor Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital in Austin, TX
- 32-bed L&D unit with a staff of approximately 150
- Patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2, supported by a charge nurse and co-charge nurse on both day and night shifts
- Typical procedures include SVDs, cerclages, C-sections, and TOLACs
- Equipment used includes Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, and ultrasound
- EMR system is Meditech
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Rotating weekends required (alternating)
- No on-call requirements
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), STABLE, and intermediate or advanced AWHONN fetal monitoring (or NCCEFM)
- SVE competency and C-section circulation experience required
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D nursing experience required
- All certifications must be AHA or ARC issued and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
Additional Information
- Performs intrapartum nursing care including monitoring, assisting with deliveries, and circulating for C-sections
- Internal monitor placement competency is preferred
- Prior HCA assignment or employment experience is preferred
- Experience in a high-volume Level IV L&D unit is preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
- Scrub color is navy blue; solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts are acceptable — t-shirts are not permitted
