Description
American Traveler is seeking a chemo-certified RN for an Oncology Infusion Clinic position requiring current ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification and at least one year of chemotherapy experience.
Details
- Outpatient oncology infusion clinic setting serving adult patients
- 10-hour day shifts, 4 days per week (40 hours/week); shifts may vary between 8–12 hours
- Clinic is open 7 days/week; must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Administers PO and SC injections, chemotherapy drugs, IV infusions, and blood products
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active RN license (OK state or eNLC compact) currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration certificate required
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate required
- Minimum 1 year of chemotherapy nursing experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Administers chemotherapy and other medications as ordered; consults with medical personnel regarding chemotherapy protocols, side effects, and related concerns
- Monitors and documents physiological data, patient responses to nursing interventions, and changes in physician orders
- Provides chemotherapy-related patient and family education and answers clinical inquiries
- Coordinates follow-up care by scheduling post-treatment activities, obtaining referrals, and conducting post-visit phone triage
- Delegates tasks to support staff and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after a total of 26 weeks before becoming eligible for another contract
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical documents) must be completed promptly after offer acceptance; non-compliance may result in cancellation
