Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in Oklahoma City, OK, requiring at least one year of experience and the ability to float to any area of the hospital.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting on a 3rd Floor Overflow/Med-Surg unit
- Patient population includes a variety of medical-surgical and step-down level cases ranging from simple to complex
- Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
- Med/Surg and step-down experience required for this role
- May be floated to any area of the hospital
Requirements
- Active OK RN license or a current multistate Compact (eNLC) RN license required
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required — AHA certifications only accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
- Med/Surg and step-down experience required
- Basic computer skills required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assessing and monitoring assigned patients, administering medications, initiating and monitoring IV infusions and blood products, and documenting patient responses to nursing interventions
- Collaborates with physicians during examinations and minor diagnostic procedures, and coordinates care referrals with appropriate personnel
- Delegates tasks to support staff and communicates care plans to patients and families, including at discharge
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted
- Prior workers at this facility must have a 6-month separation period after completing 26 weeks (one contract plus one extension) before being eligible to return
- Compliance requirements (drug screens, background checks, medical requirements) must be initiated immediately upon acceptance of an offer — compliance deadlines are firm and non-negotiable
