Description

American Traveler is hiring a Radiology Technologist (X-Ray) for an acute care hospital setting, requiring ARRT certification and the ability to work across general X-ray, fluoroscopy, and OR environments.

Details

• Acute care hospital radiology department with 4 rooms: 3 general X-ray, 1 fluoroscopy, plus 2 portables and 3 C-arms
• Common studies and procedures include general X-ray, OR cases (cystos, ortho, GI), and fluoroscopy cases (ortho and GI)
• Approximate volume of 110 studies per day
• Staffing consists of 6–7 techs on days, 3–4 on evenings, and 1 tech on midnights — traveler may be the sole tech on-site overnight
• Float coverage required between the general X-ray department, fluoroscopy, and the OR
• EMR: Cerner (Community Works); PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect
• Equipment includes OEC C-arms, GE AMX portables with DR-Konica, and diagnostic room equipment by Del Medical, Siemens, and Philips
• 4x10-hour shifts on steady afternoon and midnight rotation, every other weekend
• Holiday rotation coverage may be required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiology Technologist
• Current ARRT certification and BLS required
• WV X-ray License required if applicable
• WV CARES registration required prior to start
• Must be proficient in general X-ray, portables, OR, and fluoroscopy
• Copy of unexpired driver's license required for consideration
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform general X-ray studies, fluoroscopy cases, and OR cases including cystos, orthopedic, and GI procedures
• Radiologist is in-house until 5:00 PM, on-call thereafter, with Vrad covering remote interpretation from 2:00 AM–6:00 AM
• Imaging Director and Manager are available M–F during daylight hours and always reachable by phone; a lead tech is present on most afternoon shifts
• Orientation consists of 5 shifts with a preceptor
• Scrubs may be any clean, professional color; permanent staff wear Emerald Green (optional for travelers to match)
• IV placement is not required for this role
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being eligible to return; cumulative time at WVU facilities applies toward the one-year maximum
• Submission profile must include 7 years of work history (or from graduation if less), 2 references (at least 1 supervisor), a skills checklist completed within the past year, and copies of certifications and driver's license
