Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Post-Surgical Med/Surg night shift position in Indianapolis, IN, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in a 34-bed Post-Surgical unit (3 West) within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes post-op patients from general surgery (including bariatric) as well as overflow medical patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week on rotating days
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to similar Med/Surg units based on rotation and census needs
• Uses Pyxis medication dispensing system
• EMR: Epic (experience required)

Requirements

• Active IN or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Med/Surg or Post-Surgical nursing
• Experience with surgical drains required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and time management skills required
• Active US SSN required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Care for post-operative patients including those recovering from general and bariatric surgery, as well as overflow medical patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Education modules will be assigned upon hire and must be completed prior to first day on the floor
• Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are eligible to apply at a reduced bill rate
• Post-surgical and Med/Surg background is preferred
