Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong scrub and circulate skills and at least 2 years of recent acute OR experience for a night shift travel contract at a large hospital in North Carolina.

Details

  • Operating Room setting with 17 rooms and approximately 45 cases
  • Specialties include (in priority order): Neuro/Neuro Spine, Ortho/Ortho Spine, Vascular, Robotics, Urology, Podiatry, Oncology GYN, and general cases (General, ENT, Plastics)
  • Candidates must have strong experience in at least 2 of the top 4 specialties: neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular, or robotics
  • Both scrubbing and circulating are required
  • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:45–07:15
  • No call or float requirements
  • EMR: Epic (experience preferred); also uses Pyxis
  • 13-week contracts with potential to extend beyond 13 weeks

Requirements

  • Active NC or Compact RN license (license pending at time of consideration is acceptable)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent, acute OR experience required (candidates who have been out of the acute OR setting for more than 6 months will not be considered)
  • Proficiency in both scrub and circulate roles is required
  • Strong experience in at least 2 of the following specialties: neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular, or robotics
  • Candidates currently or most recently in a management role will not be considered
  • Two professional manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references are required prior to start
  • Prior travel experience required (candidates without travel experience may still be screened)

Additional Information

  • Orientation consists of a minimum of 36 hours (3 days), not including Epic training; orientation is held weekly
  • Pre-start online modules are required (approximately 8–10 hours for acute care roles) and must be completed annually; modules are delivered via online learning, Zoom, webinar, and in-person classes
  • Scrubs are provided in ceil blue
  • Candidates must be available for a manager interview prior to offer
  • Candidate must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
  • No RTO is permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation; up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved as long as it does not fall on a holiday; additional RTO requires facility approval; RTO cannot be worked out onsite after booking
  • Any previous permanent, PRN, or EP staff employee of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
  • Local candidates (within 50 miles of the facility) are accepted
  • Travel pairs are welcome; each traveler must have their own transportation and be flexible with differing schedules
  • Contracts of 13 weeks minimum are available, with the option for longer assignments

My phone showed her number as spam and I think blocked some of the texts I wish it hadn't have done that but that was nothing on her end all on mine so make sure that you have your settings to allow the calls and texts from spam
