Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring scrub and circulate experience in at least two of four key specialties: neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular, or robotics.
Details
- Work in the Operating Room department of a hospital environment
- Unit handles 45 cases across 17 rooms
- Specialties in priority order: neuro/neuro spine, ortho/ortho spine, vascular, robotics, urology, podiatry, oncology GYN, and general/ENT/plastics
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 7:15
- No call requirements
- No floating requirements within the unit
- Uses PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, staff meetings, and communication board systems
- Accepts 13-week or longer contract lengths
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute OR experience required (no more than 6 months out of acute OR setting)
- Candidates in management roles most recently will not be considered
- Must have both scrub and circulate experience
- Strong experience required in at least two of the following: neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular, or robotics
- Prior travel experience required (first-time travelers may be considered)
Additional Information
- Perform scrub and circulate duties for a variety of surgical specialties including neuro spine, ortho spine, vascular, and robotic procedures
- Scrubs provided in Ceil Blue color
- Unit orientation is a minimum of 36 hours across three days, not including Epic training
- Pre-start modules for acute care roles take approximately 8-10 hours and must be completed prior to start and annually
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved if not falling on a holiday, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
- All RTO must be pre-approved before signing
- Former Novant Health or New Hanover employees (PERM/PRN/EP) must wait 12 months before applying and disclose prior employment details for facility approval
- Travel pairs are allowed if placed on different units and disclosed at submission
- Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted at a lower rate
- First-time travelers will be considered for this role
