Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a float Labor & Delivery position at a Magnet, Level 1 Trauma, teaching hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and AWHONN certification.
Details
- Float position covering Labor & Delivery (L&D), Mother Baby Center (MBC), and OB Special Care Unit (OBSCU) based on census needs
- L&D unit features 12 LDRs, 3 ORs, 6 OB triage beds, and 8 OB Special Care beds
- Mother Baby Center has 34 rooms providing postpartum and newborn care; holds Baby Friendly Recognition
- Facility serves as a regional referral center for high-risk obstetric care with 100–200 births per month
- AWHONN staffing model is utilized
- Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Requires working 3 weekends per 4-week schedule; weekend shifts may include 1, 2, or all 3 days of the weekend
- No on-call requirements
- Charting system: Epic (experience preferred; training provided during orientation)
- 632-bed short-term acute care hospital
- Free parking available with badge access to parking garage
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required (compact licenses not accepted; pending license must be active by start date)
- Minimum 2 years of L&D RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN (Intermediate or Advanced); AHA-issued certifications preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Antepartum experience required
- Experience in a facility with 100–200 births per month required
- Level 1 Trauma setting experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide obstetric nursing care across L&D, Mother Baby, and OB Special Care units as needed
- Pre-start modules are required and vary by specialty
- RTO must be submitted at the time of profile; a maximum of 5 days RTO is permitted per assignment and will not be approved after the contract is signed
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travel candidates with no radius restriction
- Former core staff members must wait 12 months before returning; eligibility should be verified prior to consideration
