Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of busy med/surg tele experience and a Massachusetts RN license.

Details

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Evening shift, 4x8 hours, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No floating or on-call requirements
• Uses Omnicell for medication management and Meditech Expanse for documentation
• 16-hour unit orientation with a preceptor, either two 8-hour or two 12-hour shifts

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy med/surg unit with telemetry (without tele techs) required
• Certifications required: ACLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS
• Meditech charting system experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, port accessing/management
• Skills preferred: care of patients with aneurysms, craniotomy, intracranial bleeds, spinal cord injury, ortho trauma, telemetry oncology, and hemodialysis management

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to medical/surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Any scrub color permitted
• Some holiday coverage expected
• Time off requests should be minimized, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment or for full weeks off, and must be approved prior to start
• Must reside within 30 miles for local candidates to be accepted at the standard rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
