Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of busy med/surg tele experience and a Massachusetts RN license.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Evening shift, 4x8 hours, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- Every other weekend and every other holiday required
- No floating or on-call requirements
- Uses Omnicell for medication management and Meditech Expanse for documentation
- 16-hour unit orientation with a preceptor, either two 8-hour or two 12-hour shifts
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a busy med/surg unit with telemetry (without tele techs) required
- Certifications required: ACLS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, NIHSS
- Meditech charting system experience required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, port accessing/management
- Skills preferred: care of patients with aneurysms, craniotomy, intracranial bleeds, spinal cord injury, ortho trauma, telemetry oncology, and hemodialysis management
Additional Information
- Provide direct nursing care to medical/surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Any scrub color permitted
- Some holiday coverage expected
- Time off requests should be minimized, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment or for full weeks off, and must be approved prior to start
- Must reside within 30 miles for local candidates to be accepted at the standard rate
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
