Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring ACLS certification, strong cardiac monitoring skills, and experience in MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown settings.
Details
- Work setting is a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with float requirements to Med/Surg units
- Patient population includes cardiac and progressive care patients requiring telemetry monitoring
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Required to perform IV insertion, manage Heparin protocols, and manage cardiac drips (no titration)
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
Requirements
- Active AL RN license or Compact RN license (pending license accepted for consideration)
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Prior experience in MS/Tele, Tele, and PCU/Stepdown settings required
- Strong cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required
- Proficiency in IV insertion, Heparin protocols, and cardiac drip management required
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates; local candidates living within 60 miles may be considered at a different rate
- Prior permanent employees of this facility are not eligible for this travel position
- RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the assignment
- Hospital housing is available on-site in a remote area, with shared common spaces and private bedrooms in gender-specific units; no dogs are allowed and travelers coordinate housing directly with the facility
