Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a GI/Endoscopy position in Wichita, KS, requiring at least 1 year of acute care Endo RN experience and an active KS or compact RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital-based Endoscopy Laboratory with 9 procedure beds
• Staffing includes 6–7 RNs and 2 techs per day shift
• Intra-op patient ratio is 2:1 (team of 2 per 1 patient); pre/post-op ratio is 1 RN to 2 patients
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM; 2 shifts per month are opening shifts from 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• On-call required: 3–4 weeknight shifts per month (Mon–Thu, 5:30 PM – 7:00 AM), 1 Friday per month (5:30 PM – 11:00 PM), and 1–2 weekend shifts per month (Saturday 11:00 PM – Sunday/Monday 7:00 AM)
• Procedures performed include EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, and related variations
• Responsibilities include infection control, manual cleaning, and high-level disinfection of endoscopes
• Primary equipment includes Olympus endoscopes and reprocessing systems
• EMR is Meditech

Requirements

• Active RN license — KS state license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start)
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care Endoscopy RN experience required
• Minimum 2 years of overall clinical experience required
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• ACLS certification preferred
• PACU experience preferred
• Experience with Olympus scopes and reprocessing preferred
• Experience with endoscopy circulating and tech procedures preferred

• Staff perform both basic and interventional/therapeutic procedures on high-acuity patients alongside highly specialized physicians
• Ideal candidate can work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of an intraoperative team
• 13-week travel contract
