Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Critical Care/ICU position in the Chicagoland area, requiring at least 1 year of acute care ICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Position is based in an acute care hospital ICU setting
• Float requirement between ICU and Telemetry units
• Night shift schedule: 7pm–7:30am (19:00–07:30)
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Current ACLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Defensive/Crisis Intervention (DCI/BVP) certification required for Workplace Violence Prevention — can be completed via Relias, Healthcare Staffing Hire, or the free CDC resource
• Minimum 1 year of staff RN experience in an acute care hospital critical care/ICU setting
• Proficiency in cardiac strip interpretation and titration of drips required
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification preferred
• DOB and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Communicates with physicians regarding changes in patient clinical condition, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic results, and abnormal findings
• Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care
• COVID vaccination and boosters preferred
