Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 6 months of acute care hospital OT experience and an active KS license.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting located in Wichita, KS
- Occupational Therapy unit with a daily census of approximately 250 active consults per day
- Patient caseload of typically 8–10 patients assigned per OTR per day
- 2:1 OTR to COTA staffing ratio with a total headcount of 30 staff
- General acute care DME equipment used
- EMR: Meditech
- Day shift position: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active KS OT license required if applicable
- Minimum 6 months of acute care hospital OT experience, with experience within the last 6 months required
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

- Perform OT evaluations and treatments across a wide variety of diagnosis groups in a complex acute care environment
- Trauma and comprehensive stroke experience preferred
- Collaborative interdisciplinary team environment with a high degree of autonomy in patient care planning
- Flexible scheduling available to meet candidate needs
- Strong independent working ability, communication skills, and flexibility in a dynamic acute care setting are valued
