Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel Physical Therapist with at least 6 months of recent acute care experience for a 13-week inpatient rehabilitation assignment in Wichita, KS.
Details
- Inpatient rehabilitation facility with 41 beds, located near the main hospital campus
- Physical therapy department with an estimated 15-20 therapy staff daily across PT, OT, and SLP disciplines
- Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Every other weekend is required
- Clinicians carry up to a 6-hour treatment load per 8-hour shift
- Each patient has a 3-hour daily therapy requirement; clinicians are responsible for tracking treatment time and charges
- Equipment includes ESTIM, patient lifts, transfer equipment, gym equipment, and vital sign machines
- EMR: Meditech Magic
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of recent acute care PT experience required; experience must be within the last 6 months
- Active PT license required if applicable
- Current BLS certification required (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start)
- Experience in an acute inpatient rehabilitation setting preferred
- Neuro certification or neuro experience preferred
- Familiarity with ESTIM, patient lifts, transfer equipment, and gym equipment
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration; Canadian SSNs are not accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Daily responsibilities include patient evaluation and treatment, gait training, neuromuscular reeducation, and caregiver training
- Brand-new facility featuring the Vector unweighted system, state-of-the-art technology, and a fully equipped IADL kitchen
- Ideal candidate is a team player who is flexible with start/stop treatment times and comfortable with rotating weekends
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
