Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with at least 1 year of hospital-based respiratory experience for a night shift travel assignment in Colorado.

• Cardiopulmonary/Respiratory Therapy department
• Patient population spans multiple specialties including neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, and critical care
• Responsibilities include mechanical ventilation management, arterial blood gas draws, airway management, and medication administration across patient age groups

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience in a hospital setting
• Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program
• RRT or CRT credential (NBRC)
• Active state license required if applicable
• Current certifications: BLS/BCLS and NRP
• Pulmonary diagnostics experience preferred
• Cardiac diagnostics experience (EKG, Holter monitor, Event Monitor, Cardiac Stress Testing) preferred
• DOB and SSN may be required for consideration

Additional Information

• Administer respiratory care as ordered, with emphasis on emergency, neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, and critical care specialty areas
• Perform airway management including bag/mask ventilation, suction techniques, and artificial airway use; assist with intubations
• Initiate, maintain, and monitor ventilator patients; interpret flow volume and pressure volume curves to guide clinical changes
• Translate medication dosing for neonatal and pediatric patients using appropriate equipment and procedures
• Assist in orientation and training of new employees and respiratory/nursing students
• Maintain accurate documentation of all respiratory care procedures and patient charge reconciliation
• Participate in department in-services, patient care rounds, and mandatory hospital meetings
• Adhere to facility dress code and infection control, safety, and risk management policies
