Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery position requiring a minimum of 3 years of L&D experience, Epic proficiency, and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.

Details

• High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 rooms and an average daily census of 15 patients, performing 500–600 deliveries per month
• Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, and patients supported by Adult Recovery Services and community care clinics
• Unit is equipped with 4 ORs and follows AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Medications administered include Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) is used — experience is required
• Epic EMR is required — no exceptions
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
• Schedule is posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs, with every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage is required as needed
• Floating required to Postpartum and Antepartum, and may include floating to sister facilities that support Mother/Baby care

Requirements

• Active WA RN license or valid compact RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS and NRP
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Minimum of 3 years of high-risk L&D experience required; 5 years strongly preferred
• Must be able to circulate in the OR — no exceptions
• Must be able to function as Baby Nurse during delivery, including newborn care: eyes (erythromycin), Vitamin K (thighs), and newborn assessments — no exceptions
• Experience in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 current supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required for consideration
• Proof of required certifications and active NURSYS verification required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

• Former permanent employees of any Providence facility other than Swedish are eligible to apply if separated for at least 3 months; former Swedish employees are not eligible
• Candidates who were formerly permanent staff must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• RTO is considered on a case-by-case basis; minimal RTO is strongly preferred for this position
