Description
American Traveler is hiring a Perioperative RN for a 13-week OR travel contract in a rural Utah hospital setting, requiring on-call availability and a UT or compact RN license.
Details
- Operating room and perioperative setting at a rural, Level 4 Trauma hospital
- Responsibilities span pre-op, intraoperative (circulating), and PACU phases of patient care
- Surgical caseload includes general, orthopedic, and OB cases (including C-sections), with potential involvement in trauma cases
- Schedule is Monday–Friday, 5x8-hour day shifts
- On-call responsibilities required, averaging 7–9 days per month, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- 20-minute response time to the hospital required when on call
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered RN license in Utah or a compact state
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (ACLS may be obtained within 3 months of hire)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques
- Strong patient safety knowledge and the ability to perform effectively in high-stress, rapidly changing situations
- Ability to work independently as the sole OR nurse on-call during emergency night cases
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care to surgical patients across all phases of the perioperative continuum
- Due to the rural location, nurses must be adaptable and capable of responding quickly across a broad range of clinical scenarios
- Prior experience in pre-op, PACU, and circulating for general, ortho, and OB cases is preferred
- Blue scrubs are preferred
- Holiday coverage is expected for the following recognized holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
- No minimum prior experience required — first-time travelers are welcome to apply
- DOB and SSN may be required for consideration
