Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner II for a day shift position at an acute care facility in Goldsboro, NC, with experience in mechanical ventilation across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.

• Respiratory Therapy department at an acute care hospital in Goldsboro, NC
• Patient population includes adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Responsibilities include mechanical ventilation management, therapeutic treatments, and diagnostic studies
• Day shift, 7:00am – 7:00pm, 12-hour shifts
• 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• No holidays required
• No on-call required

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
• 1–2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience preferred
• RCP registration required
• BLS certification required
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (license required if applicable)
• Registry eligible by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Proficiency with PPE usage and knowledge of standard precautions
• Experience with medical record documentation

Additional Information

• Administer cardiopulmonary therapies as ordered by physicians, responding to STAT orders within 10 minutes and completing routine scheduled treatments in a timely manner
• Set up, operate, and maintain mechanical ventilators for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients
• Respond appropriately to all emergency codes
• Review patient records to identify contraindications and make recommendations to physicians as needed
• Restock unit supplies daily and clean and prepare equipment for sterilization
• Maintain continuing education and participate in in-service programs to meet regulatory requirements
• Demonstrate awareness of the developmental and cultural needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
