Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a Level I Trauma Academic Medical Center, requiring a minimum of 3 years of cardiac ICU experience and proficiency with Swan-Ganz monitoring.

Details

• CVICU setting within a large, Level I Trauma Center and Academic Medical Center with 1,500+ beds
• High-acuity cardiac ICU patient population requiring experienced, knowledgeable RN care
• Average patient ratio of 1:2 on both day and night shifts
• Swan-Ganz catheter monitoring is a routine part of patient care in this unit
• Charting via Epic EMR
• Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to other Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) ICUs to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling is not available

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Minimum 3 years of cardiac ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Proficiency with Swan-Ganz hemodynamic monitoring required
• Experience in a large Trauma Center setting required
• Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
• 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have cardiothoracic ICU or critical care experience
• Former permanent staff of the health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• RTO of up to 7 days may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
• Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
• Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
