Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center in Connecticut, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a large, short-term acute care hospital with over 1,500 staffed beds
- Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center setting
- Average patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days, nights, and weekends
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to sister units, including Observation, within scope to meet facility needs
- No on-call requirements
- Charting performed in Epic
- Parking available for approximately $125/month
Requirements
- Active CT or compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start date)
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior experience in a large trauma center setting required
- Clean nursing license with no prior disciplinary actions
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
- Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- RTO of 7 days or fewer may be auto-approved; requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
- Block scheduling is not available for this assignment
- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
