Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position requiring renal med/surg experience and Epic proficiency, working night shifts on a 13-week contract in Georgia.
Details
- Medical/Surgical unit in a hospital setting
- Adult to geriatric patient population with a renal med/surg focus
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6 on a 49-bed unit with an average daily census of 48
- Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Epic experience required
- Renal med/surg experience required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted
- Navy blue scrubs required
- RTO is capped at 7 days and may not be requested during the first week of the assignment
- If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two of them
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as one), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as one), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as one)
- Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full year before returning as a traveler
- The listed shift is firm — no alternate shifts or schedule change requests are permitted
- Two supervisory references (manager level or above) are highly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted
