Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel contract in an acute care interventional cardiac cath lab setting, requiring ACLS, a minimum of 2 years of cath lab experience, and on-call availability including weekends and holidays.

Details

• Acute care cardiac cath lab unit with 7 suites, 2 holding rooms, and 2 cath labs
• Adult cardiac patient population including peripheral cath, cardiac cath, PCI, and device implantation (ICD, pacemakers); no EP or ablation procedures
• Average of 4–5 cases per day, ranging from 2 to 9
• RN responsibilities include medications and the circulator/monitor role
• EMR is Epic (Cupid module); imaging system is Xper
• Telemetry via Philips hardwired at the bedside; pharmacy support via Omnicell
• 3-person cath lab team consisting of 2 RNs and 1 tech
• Schedule is Monday–Friday, days, four 10-hour shifts (0700–1530)
• 10–11 call shifts per month, including weekend and holiday rotation; call hours are Monday–Friday 1530–0700
• Weekend call coverage runs Saturday–Sunday, 0700–0700
• Holidays are covered via on-call rotation
• May be floated to Non-Invasive CV for IV starts

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
• Experience with IABP and IVUS required
• Experience with Epic (Cupid) preferred
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of 2 preceptor shifts followed by a buddy call shift
• Familiarity with the Acist injector is a plus but not required — training is available on-site
• Navy blue scrubs are provided for RNs
• COVID vaccination is required; medical or religious exemption requests are available
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers who have worked within the WVU system for a cumulative total of one year must also take a 2-year break before re-applying
• Two supervisor/peer references are required for consideration, including one supervisor reference if perm employment was held in the last 12 months
• A skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration
