Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week acute care contract in an echocardiography department.
Details
- Acute care hospital echocardiography department with 6 echo machines across 3 rooms
- Fast-paced, high-volume echo department primarily performing adult echocardiography
- Majority of work involves adult echo studies including Definity contrast and Agitated Saline; pediatric experience is a plus but not required
- Inpatient and outpatient studies performed; most inpatient studies are done bedside
- Procedures include TEE, Exercise Stress Echo, and Dobutamine Stress Echo (based on experience and availability)
- Average caseload of 7 cases per shift (range of 5–8)
- All echo machines are Philips brand: EPIC 7, IE33, and CX50
- Charting via Epic (CUPID), TomTech Reporting, and PACS
- Primarily 8-hour day shifts with variable start and end times; 10-hour shifts on Saturdays
- Rotating weekends and on-call coverage for weeknights and holidays when the department is not staffed
- No floating to other units or departments
- Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of echocardiography experience required; 4–5 years preferred
- ARDMS or CCI (ARDCS or RCS) certification required
- Current BLS required
- ND State License required if applicable
- Active certifications required at time of consideration — no pending certifications accepted
- Two current references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
- Adult echocardiography experience required; pediatric experience a plus
- Must have flexibility with variable shift times and on-call assignments
- Epic EMR experience preferred
Additional Information
- Sonographers will assist in training new permanent staff as part of team support
- Staff may work independently at times within the department
- Clinicians who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must disclose this; a minimum 6-month gap between the end of prior employment and the submission date is required
- Gray scrubs required
- All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
