Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in Bismarck, ND, with strong orthopedic surgical experience and Epic proficiency required.

Details

  • Acute care hospital OR setting with 12 OR suites at the main hospital and 6 OR suites at an outpatient surgery center located across the street
  • Assignment requires rotating between the main hospital surgery center and the adjacent outpatient surgery center
  • Unit performs a full range of surgical specialties including CV, Neuro, General, Ortho, Plastics, OB/GYN, Robotic, ENT, and Urology — averaging 40 to 60 procedures per day
  • Strong preference for RNs experienced in orthopedic procedures including knee and hip arthroplasties, shoulder and knee arthroscopies, ORIF of all bones, hip nailing, ACL repairs, carpal tunnel releases, and tendon repairs
  • 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Charting is performed in Epic
  • Orthopedic equipment is sourced primarily from Zimmer/Biomet, Synthes, and Arthrex
  • 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday
  • On-call required once per week and every 5–6 weekends
  • 13-week contract with 8-hour orientation

Requirements

  • Active ND RN license or a Compact RN license currently in hand (or willing to obtain)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skills checklist required for consideration
  • Two current professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and one from a peer or supervisor in the same specialty within the last 3 years
  • All certifications must be active and in hand — no pending certifications accepted

Additional Information

  • Candidates will work closely with a preceptor during the one-week orientation period
  • Vendor representatives from orthopedic companies are typically present in the room during orthopedic procedures
  • Preference cards for surgical procedures are thorough and up to date
  • Scrubs are provided in ceil blue
  • All staff are required to badge in and out at the facility
  • Candidates with a permanent address within 80 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
  • Candidates who have previously worked at any Sanford Health location must disclose this; a prior Sanford employment end date of at least 6 months before the assignment start date is required for consideration
  • Any requested time off during the assignment should be disclosed upfront

My phone showed her number as spam and I think blocked some of the texts I wish it hadn't have done that but that was nothing on her end all on mine so make sure that you have your settings to allow the calls and texts from spam
