Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Surgical ICU (SICU) position in Wichita, KS, requiring a minimum of 1 year of acute care ICU experience and current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications.

Details

• Work in a 26-bed Surgical ICU on the 2nd floor of a large hospital
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 13-week travel contract
• Patient population includes trauma patients, post-CABG, post-TAVR, and general post-surgical ICU patients
• Typical patient ratio is 1:2, with 1:1 assignments for high-acuity patients including post-CABG
• Specialized equipment includes balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia, and ECMO
• Common procedures include chest tube management, central lines, and medication drips
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active KS RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital ICU experience
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date

Additional Information

• TNCC certification is preferred, as is prior travel experience at large trauma facilities
• Unit staffing includes 13 RNs, 1 Charge Nurse, and 1 Patient Care Tech on both day and night shifts
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
