Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Swing Bed / Med-Surg position in Carlsbad, NM, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and NM or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Day shift position, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• 13-week contract
• Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting with 15 beds and a 1:8 patient ratio
• Swing Bed (SNF-level) and general Med/Surg patient population
• Floating required within scope of practice and clinical competency, including Rehab and Med/Surg units
• On-call is limited to census flex situations prior to the start of a scheduled shift when census is low
• EMR: MedHost

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required; no certifications may expire within the first 30 days of the start date
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Swing Bed RN experience required; 2+ years preferred
• Candidates must have no gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Valid driver's license required for consideration
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SINs are not accepted
• Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico — candidates should be prepared for a process that may take several weeks

Additional Information

• Scope of role includes general skilled nursing (SNF) level of care duties as well as Med/Surg nursing responsibilities
• Any scrub color is acceptable
• Blocked scheduling may be accommodated upon request
• RTO requests must be less than one week in duration
• Candidates who have worked at any CHS facility as permanent staff within the past 2 years are not eligible for this position
