Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Observation Unit position at a Level I trauma center requiring at least one year of experience and telemetry care skills.
Details
- 30-bed observation and medical-surgical unit with telemetry capability
- Cares for a diverse patient population of all ages at a Level I trauma center
- Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
- Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
- 13-week assignment length
- Required to work up to six weekend shifts and holidays based on department needs
Requirements
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
- Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
- US Social Security Number and US home address required
Additional Information
- Implements and monitors patient care plans, coordinating care across disciplines
- Carries out physician and nursing orders and communicates patient condition
- Coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
- Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
- Works in a team-based nursing model supported by PCTs and unit secretaries
