Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Observation Unit position at a Level I trauma center requiring at least one year of experience and telemetry care skills.

Details

• 30-bed observation and medical-surgical unit with telemetry capability
• Cares for a diverse patient population of all ages at a Level I trauma center
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Supported by PCTs, a healthcare unit coordinator, virtual sitter monitoring, and monitor techs for telemetry patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:30 to 07:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to work up to six weekend shifts and holidays based on department needs

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
• AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• US Social Security Number and US home address required

• Implements and monitors patient care plans, coordinating care across disciplines
• Carries out physician and nursing orders and communicates patient condition
• Coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Works in a team-based nursing model supported by PCTs and unit secretaries
